A replacement part can look correct and still fail to fit. Similar-looking RC vehicles may use different chassis versions, mounting points or electronics.
Start with your model’s identity—not a photograph of the broken component.
Step 1: Identify the exact vehicle
Record the brand, model number, scale and version. Check the manual, packaging or manufacturer label.
Also note any modifications. If a previous owner installed a different axle, motor mount or transmission, the original vehicle’s parts list may no longer describe that assembly.
Step 2: Locate the component in the manual
Use the manufacturer’s exploded diagram and parts list to find the component and its part number. Check whether the replacement is sold individually or as part of a larger assembly.
Manufacturer manuals can include both component lists and specific equipment references; the exact manual for your model is the starting point. Example manufacturer manual
Step 3: Confirm compatibility
Depending on the part, check:
- Chassis or model version.
- Mounting dimensions.
- Wheelbase and body clearance.
- Shaft, hub or connector type.
- Manufacturer-specified electrical compatibility.
A matching scale alone does not establish compatibility. A matching connector does not establish electrical compatibility either.
Step 4: Read the fitment label
An exact replacement, compatible alternative and upgrade are different choices. If fitment requires an adapter or modification, understand what is needed before purchasing.
Treat “Compatibility Not Verified” as a request for further checking.
Step 5: Keep a useful record
Save the part number and installation date. Photograph the assembly before disassembly and retain the relevant manual.
